Tücsök-lak Nursery

The Tücsök-lak Nursery is the district’s newest facility; it opened its doors in 2012. It is a two-storey building with excellent natural light, where children receive professional care and education in six group rooms.

There is direct access to the terrace from the group rooms, which makes it easy to use the yard. The playground is an important part of the nursery’s educational environment. During the summer heat, children can cool off at a mist station. There is plenty of space to ride tricycles, play with toy motorcycles, and play ball, all while enjoying the cheerful atmosphere created by the origami mural of hummingbirds, painted in pleasant colours on the firewall of the neighboring house.

A total of 14 qualified early childhood educators and 6 nannies carry out the daily tasks.

We provide four meals a day for the children, prepared in our own kitchen. In accordance with nutritional guidelines, the children’s menus are developed by combined efforts of the dietitian, the food service manager, and the heads of the nursery. The meals are varied and prepared exclusively from the finest ingredients.

A salt room made of rock salt from Parajd has been set up in the nursery building. For preventive health purposes, children can use it several times a week from early fall through spring. While in the salt room, the early childhood educators engage the children in music, storytelling, and puppet shows in small groups.

Each of our group rooms can accommodate 12–14 children. The rooms are cosy, aesthetically pleasing, and child-centred, meeting today’s standards.

Every child care group has an abundant supply of high-quality toys available for children of nursery age.

In addition, the early childhood educators provide the children with other creative, interesting, and homemade toys—which they make themselves—to support spontaneous growth and development.

Our staff enrich the holidays with group activities, games, and performances, and parents have the opportunity to get a glimpse into the life of the groups during open house events and to engage in creative activities together with their children.
