Játékvár Nursery

Our nursery was built in November 1973 in Józsefváros, in a quiet part of the Palotanegyed, sheltered from the noise of the city. The beautifully and tastefully renovated nursery has two group rooms on each of its three floors, which can be connected if necessary, providing a spacious environment.

Our nursery’s yard is a vast, tree-lined, enclosed garden nestled among the narrow streets of the city centre. Half of the playground is covered with rubber flooring. The yard features several installed play structures. In addition to the play equipment, we have installed a warm-water splash pad and a mist gate, which ensure that children can stay active and have fun even on hot summer days.

There are five early childhood educators working in each of the group rooms on the ground floor and second floor, and four in the group room on the first floor; two nannies assist them on each floor. Behind the scenes, a dietitian and food service manager, two cooks, a laundry worker, an additional nursery assistant, the head of the nursery, an early childhood educator who is the deputy head of the institution, and a property manager all contribute to providing the children with professional, high-quality care.

An essential part of nursery education and care is a meal plan that is well-designed and implemented based on professional standards, tailored to the nutritional needs and daily schedules of nursery-age children. Due to the nursery’s layout, each care unit has a kitchenette, from which meals prepared in the main kitchen are served in the group room. We pay close attention to ensuring the children’s nutritional needs are met and to preparing special dietary meals for children with medical recommendations.

In the salt room, children can participate in daily activities from fall through spring, exploring various materials based on colour, texture, and shape in a quiet, peaceful environment.

In the gym, a wide variety of equipment—regardless of age group—enables children to practice various forms of physical activity. Our nursery has 3 care units, with a total of 6 group rooms where we welcome the children who attend. A wide range of toys is available to them.

For example: role-playing props, building toys, basic materials for visual activities, tools for developing fine motor skills, equipment for promoting large motor skills, a play kitchen, musical instruments, a story corner, equipment for developing a sense of balance, soft, colorful, sound-making toys designed to capture attention, and soft balls.

Throughout the school year, we provide numerous opportunities and occasions for the children attending our nursery and their family members to spend time together at the nursery during joint events and creative afternoons. Examples include: Advent preparations, Easter preparations, Children’s Day, and a farewell afternoon.
